Lita Chan
Lita was born and educated in Singapore. She tutored high school math and taught music then. She founded SG Math Academy because she believes that early training of logical reasoning and critical thinking will enrich a child’s learning journey.
Lita is also a CPA and had previously worked in the investment management and management consulting companies. She has a business degree from Simon Fraser University.
Derick Young
Derick holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Calgary and brings over three years of experience in tutoring math to his teaching role. He has a particular focus on helping students from grades 10 to 12, emphasizing problem-solving and critical thinking to build the skills needed to tackle unfamiliar challenges. Passionate about helping students succeed and reach their goals, Derick is committed to their academic success. Outside of teaching, he enjoys reading, programming, and playing volleyball.
Iqra Khan
Iqra holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education specializing in Elementary English Language Arts from the University of Calgary. She is an Alberta-certified teacher with International and local teaching experience.
She loves teaching complex concepts to students and cultivating a learning space for students to thrive.
Outside of the classroom, Iqra likes to travel, hike and write.
Preeti Parihar
Preeti is a seasoned mathematics educator with 12 years of teaching experience. She holds a BSc Mathematics, MEd, and MBA in Marketing and is also an Alberta-certified teacher. She has taught elementary and middle schools in Canada and overseas.
Preeti enjoys fostering critical thinking, and empowering students to achieve academic excellence. She particularly loves teaching math where she is able to effectively communicate complex concepts to students of diverse learning styles.
Outside the classroom, Preeti enjoys yoga, gardening, and travelling.
Clifford Lui
Clifford has a Master degree in Mathematics and Engineering from Queen's University, Ontario. He has been teaching Mathematics ranging from elementary level to IB Diploma and University foundation courses (HKU SPACE). Besides traditional curriculum, he has also been teaching Olympiad Math in Hong Kong for students who want more challenge. He likes cycling, hiking, camping, badminton. For students and parents attending Calgary Chinese Alliance Church, you may also see him on Sunday too.
